FRANCE MINIATURE
FRANCE

SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL

Wondering how to tour the whole of France without moving far from Paris? Easy: France-Miniature, in Yvelines, offers close to 140 jewels of the French national patrimony (monuments, typical villages, castles, squares, and abbeys...) at 1/30th their scale. This year, 6 new additions will enrich this haven of replicas of cultural France.
The village of Saint-Emilion, well known for its wines, has its hundred buildings covering an area of 85 m2.
Jean Monnet's house, located in Yvelines, is an historically important site for Europe because it is there, in April 1950, that he wrote the declaration that established the ECCS (European Community of Coal and Steal)).
Besides its architectural interest, the Chateau of Saint-Symphorien, located between Rambouillet and Chartres, is also a first for France-Miniature: the very people who live in the village of Saint-Symphorien built it.
The three other new additions complete the religious theme begun last year with the Chartres Cathedral. They include the Grande Mosquée and the Grande Synagogue de Paris and a Cévennes hamlet, le Mas Soubeyran, an important site for Protestants in France.
