BOBBEJAANLAND KINDERLAND, GROWNUPS NOT ALLOWED!!!

Although most amusement parks willingly add 'family park' to their name, few exist that actually accommodate all age groups. A roller coaster would make any teenager happy; a good show would satisfy even granny...But what of the little ones? Those charming rascals under 6 are a category often overlooked by amusement parks.
The Belgian park Bobbenjaanland set out to right this wrong when in the middle of the 1990's they inaugurated an area unique in its kind, baptised Kinderland (Kids' Land), explicitly reserved for children.
A large building covering 7000 square metres (close to the size of two soccer fields), with 3 floors entirely devoted to those between 2 and 10, it is a veritable park within a park.
"A Park within a park", because in this one building the kids can find all the elements that make a park: food courts, carousels, playgrounds, and shows.

SAFE...

BOBBEJAANLAND Kinderland is particularly noteworthy for two reasons: its perfect accommodation to parents' and children's desires and its décor. Safety is a main concern for parents, so accordingly, the toys in the games area are of a soft plastic kind and there is more than sufficient personnel looking over the children as they play. Even those under 3 have an area to play where anyone above 4 is outlawed. There are indeed carousels in Kinderland, but the main part is the playgrounds (photo). Similar to what you may find in some fast food stores, the designers of this area had in mind the fidgety inclinations of the very young. The show that is proposed, halfway between magic and clownery, has managed to do without the usual boring artifice parents often enjoy.

...AND PRETTY

BOBBEJAANLAND The décor at Kinderland, all the while managing to avoid being silly, takes you into a childlike universe full of whimsy and poetry. Colour is what unites the two kinds of aesthetic to be found at Kinderland. On the one hand, the playgrounds with rubber balls, nets, cubes, and intertwining tunnels all painted in primary colours that would excite even the whiniest of children. With a theatre in the style of turn-of-the-century funfairs, a small train, and an old-school carousel, you have on the other hand, a beautiful homage to the circus and the amusement park. A multitude of wonderful decorative objects are to be found between these two worlds: a giant armchair, a funny-looking clock, clowns...And amid all this, kids are having fun.
