Colchester Zoo is now one of the finest Zoos in Europe. There's over 200 species to see, set in over 60 acres of beautiful parkland. Award winning enclosures include the new Kingdom of the Wild which has cost nearly £2 million to build. Other attractions include the Tanganyika Road train, new Tanganyika Bridge across Lemur Island, the Kids Jungle Safari Train, Kalahari Capers Soft Play complex and four outdoor adventure play areas, all of which are included in your admission. Ten Interactive discovery areas around the Zoo give children and adults alike all sorts of information about the animals.
Ample facilities include the Inn at the Zoo self-service restaurant and new terraced area, Ark Take Away, a pizza bar and other outlets which are open at busy times.
The Zoo also offers a great shopping experience at the Acacia and Ark Shops without you even having to enter the Zoo grounds. Car parking is free and there are ample baby changing and feeding facilities and toilets.
